Can we include Louisiana in that list? I've always wanted to try boiled peanuts :)

Cindy

Heck yes, we can include anyone who wants to be included. R

I'm really glad you thought to do this, raven. I have been watching the other groups while I've been here and wondered how I could get involved with a group. I never dreamed that it could just be made.

Groovy.

I am glad everyone has been so positive about this. I only hope that everyone keeps it alive. R

Another name? Hmm....

The Deep Down South

Yes it's dumb but I'm tired. I'll try again later after sleep.

RavenC suggested "Deep South Divers." At first, I thought this too plain and obvious... Until I read it again and realized the double-meaning in "Deep South." Too cool.

My vote is for something with "Deep South" in it... "Deep South Divers" is plain, but I really dig the double meaning.

"Deep South Divers?"

"Deep South Rebels?"

"Deep South Aquanauts?"

"Divers of the Deep South?"

"Deep South Somethings?"

...And then to come on this board and see that someone else also capitalized on the "Deep South" double meaning. I like it a lot.

"Bolled peanuts" rock. :) You can get them anywhere here. And of course, my whole family has deep roots in the shrimping industry. Both the shrimp boat in Forrest Gump and the shrimp boat in Prince of Tides were my family's boats.

'Course, the owners are only like third cousins or something, but they're family nonetheless.

I'd be happy to bring a couple hundred pounds of 'headed "shrump" with me on our next excursion... And perhaps some "bolled peanuts"... If y'all will bring some of them crawfish thingies. :)

Deep South Divers gets my vote. Or maybe Southcoast Divers? Whatever we turn out to be, a big THANKS to Raven and the moderators for putting this together.

Seajay, I'll get ahold of the crawfish and you can supply the peanuts and shrimp for the First Annual Deep South Divers Seafood and Peanut Boil!...LOL I can see we're going to be a fun group. As we say in Louisiana: Les le bon ton rouler! (Let the good times roll)

Cindy

NetDoc, are you REALLY from the south or just pretending? The reason I ask is this:

Cotton Picking Divers...

In the south, it's never "ing". It would be
Cotton Pickin' Divers". We don't never use no "ing" in no words. I'm gettin' this or I'm goin' there. ING...what's ING? :)

ND,
You're right. NetDoc is really a Nuw Yawker.
