I've come to the conclusion that I can't get proper trim in a set of doubles without ankle weights. I need a total of 3 pounds.

Do I need to have taste in ankle weights, or shall I just go buy whatever's cheapest?

The quality aspect is in the buckle. It's not uncommon for one to come off during the dive.

R..

Cam bands with trim weight pockets on the lowest part of each tank won't get you there?

Ankle weights mean every time you move your leg or foot you're using that much more energy (and oxygen) to move that extra mass.

Seasoft seems to be the most common, in my neck of the woods.
1.5 pounds on each ankle makes mine hurt. Sure you can't use a tail weight?

Not going to happen. My weight belt sits even with the bottom of my cylinders. I have the cylinders as low as I can get them. Double HP100s and double LP72s both give me floaty feet. Double 120s would be better but they are heavier than I'm willing to carry.

I get it, I just don't know what else to do. I don't know if it's a body shape thing or what. With singles I can get good trim without such extreme measures but I still need to carry all my weight as low as I can.

Sound like your cylinders are too high on your body. Bring them down an inch or two.

I'd love to, but they're as far down as I can get them. Bands are at the shoulder of the cylinders, harness shoulder straps are loose so it sits low, using a crotch strap, not sure what else to do.
