I dive a transpac II with the old (tiny) style rec wing. I really like it, but recently I've
noticed that my trim is pretty bad. I think that the problem is the size because I generally wear M to L clothing and my transpac is a small :/

Generally I put the tank as low as I can with both cam bands on tight and I loosen the shoulder straps pretty far to get the tank lower on my back, compensating for the looseness by tightening the belt, but this generally makes my gear too loose anyway.
During the dive I end up tightening the shoulders until the first stage is fairly close to the back of my head.

I am hoping for advice on how to properly adjust the transpac for a larger diver.

I doubt you can go from a small to a large sucessfully. Seems that's what you're finding.

Mine is a large, with adjustments inside, at the top of the shoulders, for large/x-large. That's the adjustment inside and not the pull straps which provide several inches of adjustment. I've adjusted mine from large to x-large and back to large but the range at that adjustment point is about an 1.5". I'm guessing, emphysis on guessing, that perhaps you could go from a small to a medium using that adjustment point but you would need to talk to DiveRite. Mine actually has tabs noting large and x-large.

DiveRiteExpress has the harness only for $169. That's probably your best bet. Maybe you can find one cheaper.

Good luck....

I looked at thier website and saw one for 400$, would you mind linking to the 169$ one?

My mistake... it's the TransPLATE harness @ $169. I'm pretty sure you can buy the Transpac harness compoenents individually. Give them a call.

You can its like $109, I asked about it a while back. thats nothing but the harness, you have to add all the D-rings and padding and stuff yourself.

I have to ask about why you rig your tank low? I center my tank over my plate or transpac or place it slightly high. This allows me to reach my valve handle (underwater) and makes trim way better for me.

I would suggest you play with weight placement to get trim fixed.

can you answer what type of tank(s) you are diving, how much weight, where weight is carried, and any other gear which may throw trim off like a pony bottle?
