I thought they slowed the Laker's game down to such a pace that the SoCal's didnt know how else to try and score (read ran out of imagination), wasnt much of a kicking score-wise - except the last 2/3 games winning by ~15-20 points and hardly touching 90 in any games (except the last one) - i know that is the way Detroit plays ;)

I think Rick Mahorn had a nickname too but i can't remember it.

I think the Pistons basically "outwanted" the Lakers. Kinda like what Calgary did to da Wings. Similar dynamics going on there i think.
 
None of our games are high scoring-that's not our style. But you're right, the smothering defense stopped LA's fast break, and we contested everything they tried. A lot of their shots were forced.
