Rockhound once bubbled...
I thought I was the only one to quote him....

Some of my favorites:

"It's better to copulate than never".

" A mouse is an elephant built to government specifications."

"Diplomacy is one of the lubricants of life. It helps the machinery run smoother."

I'm paraphrasing the last one, since I can't remember it clearly. Of course, I first read of Lazarus as a teenager more than 25yrs. ago, so it's surprising that I remember any of it. Heinlein was one of my favorite authors.)
You have your mouse confused with your elephant...
Rick :)

That's a Lazarus Long (Robert A. Heinlein) quote, yes?

(one of my favorite autors)
Well, (3) is...
(2) is a paraphrase,
and Rule #1 is from my grandmother.
They are all true.
And they all demonstrate "Lurch's first law of literature" which reads "Nothing is original... there are simply degrees of plagiarism."
Almost everything in the notebooks of Lazarus Long can be found either in whole or in part in earlier documents - many dating back to Plato and Socrates, the Bible and other ancient sources. Heinlein, like Lurch, was a naval aviator.

Good luck with the course- the school you mention has a good rep. Been looking into that same sort of schooling, so please let us know how it goes!

As for advice... what I hear is "the best kind of boat is someone else's" and "rent, don't buy". (Couldn't find that "poke in the eye with a sharp stick" smiley icon.)

...as I whacked my girlfriend in the head with it during a complex docking maneuver. I hate tiller steering.

Oh yeah, I remember that famous TILLER WHACK to the face! Please (holding face) avoid the tiller! :bonk:
