at how some folks who don't dive can be taken in and think the scuba dog story is real. Here's a true story:

An individual who will remain unidentified got a postcard from a friend. The card displayed a digitally altered photo that purported to be a picture of a dog, completely underwater, wearing a dive mask, with a snorkel in it's mouth. Remember here - completely - underwater. Since I'm a diver, the individual took the card to me and asked me to explain how the dog could breath underwater like that.

I'm not making this up.

It wasn't a kid who got duped like this, either. It was a woman in her forties.

Trust me, it was all I could do to retain control of my bodily functions when I got asked that question.

there is a scuba diving cat, it was on belive it or not. they used a al 19 for a main tank, and had a bell type bubble so no mask or reg was needed. i'll try and find a link.
