I can't help but be continually amazed at some non-newbie divers who are clueless about equipment, particularly wetsuits. I know someone who is buying a 5 year old, 5mm suit that the owner is selling because it has "mysteriously shrunk" (seller insisting they haven't gained weight). I asked the buyer if there is any concern at all about the possibility that the neoprene may be breaking down on an older suit, and the response was that they had never even considered that and that it wasn't really a concern since the suit had been hung, not folded. Huh?? :06:

It was at that point that I realized that trying to discuss this with them was pointless. Think I'll just continue to "waste my money" by buying new. :05:

LOL! My shell drysuit shrank too :D Happened a few months after I got a sit-down job and I KNOW it has nothing to do with the 15 lbs I've put on LOL!
Ber :lilbunny:

they bought a 3mm...my 7-yr old 3mm, after several hundred compression cycles, is now like a 1.5mm...

As long as it fits, they probably got something useful. Might not keep em as warm as they'd hoped, tho...
