Or is the velcro on the wrong side of this cam band? I have tried every way possible and no luck. I have 2 the same way. My other cam bands that I have that are similar have the velcro on the opposite side. photo (2).jpg

yes, the velcro should be on the wrong side.

Looks right to me, that's the velcro patch to hold the end of the flap from flapping. When the band is properly installed, that patch will be on the outside of the cylinder, and when the band is closed, the end of the flap will have a matching piece on the inside to stick to that patch.

I am the last person to speak to anyone else's sanity...

I agree that it's on the wrong side. When the camband is installed, the convex side of the buckle curve will lie on the tank. This will put the Velcro facing the tank.

If there's the matching velcro on the other side of the strap at the end opposite from the buckle then the easiest way to 'fix' it would be to flip the buckle over. But realistically you probably have to return it.

Everyone else thinks they're wrong. You can send them to me, I think everyone else is wrong.

This is why they make duct tape. Just slap it on and tape it up. Problem solved.

In all serious though that's an Australian tank band. Only for use in the southern hemisphere.

That velcro is to buffer the tank from the harshness of the webbing - so it doesn't scratch the tank finish and cause corrosion. Its a tank-belt pad - new tech invention from Aussi-land. Didn't you know that? ;)
