The temps can vary quite a bit in a single day depending on current and dive site. I have been comfortably warm in a 2/3 full suit and freezing cold in the same suit a couple hours later. However, most dives were on the comfortably warm end.

I don't believe there are any direct flights. I have been advised not to try the NAM flights, they are often cancelled.

Do not believe Lion Air's second flight of the day to Alor. The only one that actually flies is the Wings Air flight at 08:15 - IW1943. You can sometimes book a later flight that seems to be a better connection - it never actually flies and Lion Air will rebook you on some interesting itineraries - ask me how I know. A couple of years ago it took me three days to fly to Alor, overnight in Surabaya and then overnight in Kupang - instead of the one day I had booked.

To get to Alor from Jakarta with one stop in a single day you need to leave at 2:00 AM. There are no good options from Bali to Alor. You can get there, but you fly through Jakarta.

I find that staying overnight in Kupang is the best way to get to Alor. Hotel La Hasienda is close to the airport and an interesting place to spend a night.

Hi !

Alor is amazing for aswell bigger pelagic as the macro that is to offer. I personally would definitely not skip on that one, since the abundance there is just insane. But especially around September there is a higher change of some bigger pelagic stuff going around.

I just booked for June at this new resort Moko Alor. They offer also different types of dive packages. And have own shore house reef dives too. Looks all very slick (also.. A/C, warm water showers, 5G WiFi), maybe worth checking aswell !

I wish you all the fun in Alor, its' amazing there !
How did you like Moko Alor?

We met them at a dive exhibition yesterday and plan on booking with them for October 2025.
Everything they told us/showed us seemed amazing but it's always great to hear from fellow divers who visited the resort and area already.

I would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you!

Alor divers was a good time, I can also say I enjoyed my diving there. I would agree with the 70-30 wide vs macro from my time with Alor Divers. On the liveaboard the week before, It was probably 70-30 in the reverse.

When I was there in late October early November Moko was excellent. The bungalows are a step up from Alor Divers and Alami (which are both excellent as well). Two separate bedrooms and a fridge in the livingroom - very comfortable.

When I was there I was the only diver in the resort so we dove where I wanted to dive, so about 50/50 macro / wide angle. This was five days after spending a week diving with Alami.

The guide was excellent. My only complaint was the food. They were still working the kinks out of their food service. Meals ranged from terrible to superb, with most on the good side. One breakfast was dried oatmeal and a box of milk - a mistake that was rectified later in the morning. I would expect that this will be fixed now.

A difference between Alor Divers and Alami and Moko is that both Alor and Alami serve meals at a communal table “family style” whereas Moko is a restaurant with meals served individually. This means that at both Alor and Alami you get to know your fellow guests, while at Moko I rarely even saw the other guests. Not good or bad, just different.
