Sometimes we spend an entire dive looking for interesting animals to photograph. Sometimes they seem to find us. For the second week in a row Kevin Lee was molested by a Harbor seal. I didn't have that much excitement but I found three species of Polycera within a few feet of each other.
Although the surface visibility looked great we had fair to poor on the bottom. Golf Ball Reef was decent but it was pretty cloudy at the crane near Haggerty's. Temperatures were in the low to mid 50s.
Polycera atra
Polycera hedgpethi
Polycera tricolor
After photographing a yellowfin fringehead for the millionth time I was surprised to see it leave its den and stop long enough to get two shots off.
Spanish Shawl, Flabellina iodinea
Hedgehog Hydroid, Hydractinia milleri
Furry hermit crab, Paguristes ulreyi
Light bulb tunicate, Clavelina huntsmani
Pseudoceros montereyensis
Pseudoceros luteus
