Alligators won't bother you. Walter provided some good information I'm sure, but from all of us who were born/have lived in Florida for a while; if you don't go messing around with gators, they won't go messing around with you.

Oh, and BOO on UF :(

Sandbar:
They taste like chicken.

They absolutely do not taste like Chicken. They taste like Alligator. Pretty good, too.

That's not exactly accurate. Generally, gators will stay away, but there are lots of exceptions. A gator that's been fed is extremely dangerous to people. If a dog is nearby, gators are extremely dangerous. Lots of folks with your belief have been killed and/or eaten by gators over the years.

Me too.

This is kinda of subject, but is gator considered seafood or not?

Gator have occasionallymessed with divers... not often and they don't seem to be attacking them, more of the defensive type action. We were at a state park last year the day after there was a biting.. nothing serious, just someone cornering one and it not liking it. Rangers were a bit touchy, though. I think the lecture we got was worse than any biting.

While they may taste like chicken, neoprene does not seem to taste good to anything.
