It's the MI part - Military Intelligence. :wink:

I figured out why everyone laughs at the MI thing and somehow managed to get reclassified MP halfway through my tour.

I decided a job where you countdown the number of days left probably wasn't a good career choice. Short timers were envied. Loved the job, made some lifelong friends, could not tolerate the military mindset.
