No op on Cozumel that I know of will deny you the privilege of setting up your own gear..They won't set up my tank if I ever dive with them.
Aldora has an analyzer on their boat. The crew sets up your bcd/reg, analyzes the tank and shows you the reading on the analyzer.
I have metal clamps on my tank bands instead of velcro. One morning I arrived at the boat (a different dive op than I use now) and see the Capt. looking at my BCD that he has just put on the tank. I walk over and see that he has put the BCD on the tank upside down. He also has put the clamps on so tight that he can not open them to correct the mistake (he must have used the weight of the tank to close the clamps). A DM from the boat next to us in the caletta was watching and reached over and handed him a large screwdriver to pry the clamps open. Guess who never touched my gear again.
..upside down ??? WOW!
