Other than price, what is the difference/advantage of one over the other? Is the LX worth the difference in price?

Thanks

The LX is a balanced second stage, and is an excellent breather. The "regular" titan second stage is unbalanced. I've never tried it, so can't comment on how well it breathes, but seems to do fairly well in magazine reviews vs. other regs in it's price range. I also like the fact that you can easily remove the rubber purge cover without tools if the need arises.

The LX second stage is better breathing and more responive than the titan. It also is less prone to uncontrollable freeflow, and noticably easier breathing in cold water or at deeper depths, as it is balanced. The LX's venturi knob and purge are also much easier to use with gloves on than the Titan's switch above the mouthpiece. The price difference is so insignificant that you may as well go with the LX.

i dive with the titan and have no complaints. it's the first reg i've purchased, and thus far i've been very pleased with it. I'd say for rec diving it'll be fine. just my two cents..

That's the same case here in the local market. The price difference is pretty small which makes the LX pretty attractive to go with.

But in any case, AL Titan is a really good regulator. Good choice indeed.
