Another example...this morning, I booked Orlando to Cancun direct for $350 pp as compared to Orlando to Atlanta or Dallas or Houston to Cozumel for about $780 pp.

For two of us, the total savings of $860 pays for a lot of inconvenience.

Air miles! Get A CC that rewards air miles and use it for whatever you can to collect the miles. Just pay it off every month and you'll be fine.

Los Angeles to Coz is $120 RT for two. American with a stop in Dallas. No biggie for the price and no bus/ferry rides. Landing in Coz is way better IMO.

Just checked that today from the midwest-and just like airfare the miles used would double for Cozumel in lieu of Cancun. It was simply no fare saver seats from Houston to Cozumel.

From Orlando, the cost difference can be crazy! For example, the first week of December is approximately $780 to Cozumel and $360 for a direct flight to Cancun on Jet Blue. For two of us the differential pays for a good part of the rest of the trip.

We have done the Cancun to Playa route before using a pre-booked van and it workrd well, but I always worry about it being there for the return trip--so far, so good.

The bus terminal in Plays is quite convenient and the busses look to be quite nice so my question is:

Where is the bus terminal at the Cancun airport and how much of a hassle is it to find and book?

Thanks in advance for information.

This may help, ADO Bus Playa - www.Playa.info

The bus fare from Cancun Airport to PDC is 80 pesos and you don't have to book in advance -- buy tix from the ADO rep inside your arriving terminal (Terminal 2 or 3 -- most international flights are now coming into Terminal 3) as the driver doesn't handle money. The bus runs about once an hour. Between runs, it parks outside Terminal 3 and moves to Terminal 2 approx. 10-15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure -- meaning that you can probably board right outside the building. If you need to move to another Terminal, the airport offers a free shuttle.
