Is this a metric thread, 3/8- 16 and 3/8 24 are common/standard but this sits right in the middle of thread pitch/count.

Major thread diameter is . 3710 on the calipers and 20tpi gauge lines up perfectly.

There is an adaptor to connect a SP/atomic hose to a standard inflator

I carry one anytime I have an air 2 hose in case there is a problem with the octo inflator and I just put a regular inflator on.
I just bought one at dive gear express. I can now use the adapter and plug in the "IP guage directly. Seems like a no brainer for the air 2 users. I didn't even know it was made until a few weeks ago.

Nice, thank you.. any reason to carry the adapter that goes standard hose to air2 .. I think I have seen that one for like $40.. ( trying to be proactive, say in case bcd has an issue, the cheaper adapter lets you rent or borrow a regular bcd.. the adapter from standard hose to air2 could be if your reg has an issue and need to borrow rent one, vs swapping inflators... not sure how much a regular inflator is for a scubapro...) just thinking out loud... ordered my air2 setup yesterday

don't think there is one. It won't work safely.

the standard BC inflation nipple/hardware/shraeder valve does not provide a sufficient flow rate to easily breath from at depth.
