Neither, bungee the secondary and donate the primary. The stressed, OOA diver will appreciate getting a regulator known to be working, with the correct gas.

I know everyone here seems to hate the Air2 or any of the inflator/regulator combos like the Atomic SS1 (which I have btw) but I don't agree for all situations. If you have no pony, I think a secondary like rongoodman recommends is the way to go.

However, if you use a pony like I do, I really like having the an Air2 or similar inflator/reg combo. The reason is because if you have 3 normal regulators on your front, it starts getting really messy and confusing. I tried it a couple of times and never felt comfortable, just too much going on and way too cluttered. If you have the pony though and use the Air2, for me it's great. You can still have the pony for emergencies in the normal octo/secondary location and something everyone is familiar with, i.e. you don't always have to explain to your new buddy about the Air2 and in an emergency there's still the pony regulator where the octo would be. So if you have an emergency for either person, you can easily grab the pony and not confuse it with the octo or secondary. Worst case scenario, if you're buddy needs air and is using your pony and your main regulator gives out too, unlikely as that would be------well you still have the Air2 as a backup for the backup. It may not breath great but for a worst case scenario you still have something and the rest of the time you're not dealing with all the extra clutter.

Just my opinion, I'm sure plenty of people will say I'm an idiot, the Air2 is pure evil but for use with a pony, I love it and helps keep things manageable and clean.

I'm sorry I started this thread as a joke as it being one of the most debated and discussed topic on the boards. uncool sorry

Since you have only fifteen posts, people were assuming ignorance over dickishness. Hence the well-intended responses.
