We are contempalting a trip to either Bonaire, Grand Cayman or Roatan the end of July. What is the normal air temeprature/weather in Grand Cayman at this time?
Thanks

We have been to the Sister Islands a couple of times in early August, and the air temps are usually mid to upper 80s and water temps were around 84-86F. That time of year is kind of early in the year for hurricanes (the peak of the season is in mid september), but you can't necessarily rule them out. My experience has been that if you don't have a hurricane nearby, the seas are generally very calm around that time and it can be some really excellent diving.

Aggiediver gives good information above.

During summer months, hurricanes are a real consideration. They don't shut down the diving often, but when they do... I recall being run out of the Caymans by hurricane Gustav in August 2008. Fortunately, I only lost 1 day of a 2 week trip, but many people lost their entire trip when all tourists were ordered to leave. Owen Roberts airport on Grand Cayman is very crowded on an average day, but when all tourists are ordered out, it becomes an absolute nightmare.

We got lucky on the Brac and had a Hurricane pass about 150 miles south of us once...think it might have been Ivy? Or Iris? Something like that. It was the one that capsized the Peter Hughes boat at the dock in Belize. They didn't kick us out, but they shut down diving for about a day to board up all the dive shop and such in case it came our way. The light show at night was spectacular though as all the lightning lit up the tops of the hurricane when it was passing us.

I can recall a brutally hot 4th of July in the Caymans ... weather was "Great!" from the perspective of low winds and glassy seas, and 86F water temps ... but the lack of wind and the nice sunny afternoons simply too hot to do anything outside in the afternoons...low/mid 90s (plus solar load).
