Hi,

Strange question. If I filled a tank to 300 bar pressure, and then suddenly opened the valve to release all the air, would the pressure of the air released be 300 bars or over 300 bars?

I know some people may think that because the pressure is 300, the release pressure must be 300 too. But, if you have a 12 litre tank, then release it, all that pressure must escape through a little hole, so i cant help but think that the release pressure will be more than the tanks bar pressure.
What do you think?

Thanks.

No, sadly, pressure is pressure. The gas can be accelerated through a small openning but it doesn't increase the pressure. It would be a pretty neat trick if it could be and it sure would make nitrox blending easier!
