I took the unit into the LDS today upon returning home from the trip and the shop verified that the computer (not the transmitter) was indeed not working properly and they'll be sending it in for warranty tomorrow.

The problem was operator error. No offense, but that's really the truth of it.

Charles,

Thats a pretty bold statement if what Da5Id said is true. If the LDS who sold the computer to him didn't notice the issue why would you boldly state "operator error" in a mocking way?

Sounds to me like the title of this thread is kind of misleading. It suggests something was wrong with the computer.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! This ought to be good....... What is your point, outside of calling him a dumb@ss? He never said that it was a defect or anything else. He stated that it threw an error code.....

PC for thread titles now, GREAT....... :shakehead:

So now we have to explicitly format the title of each thread to explain the content of such? So we have to interpret public perspectives on how a thread title is perceived now? Half the time, people are trying to shock you into reading a thread.

This thread was quite useful in presenting a situation and getting competent feedback that was not only constructive but on point........

Would you have still read the thread if it said "I forgot my Suunto Vyper manual" or "I got a failure message on my Suunto". If he had said "My Suunto is a broken POS", you might have a reason to question his motives or thread title.

Threads are supposed to be educational, not just entertainment...... I just don't get it. The subject and problem was stated and remedied. The OP admits that it was a knowledge problem, heck, even his LDS had to call for help.........

Even though I don't have a ton of experience with Suunto outside of the specific models I have owned, I can now help a fellow diver if he has a Suunto and it throws the same error code......... at least I have a starting point.......

Thanks for posting the situation........

If I may steal a line from our above esteemed QC dept......for as I believe it is appropriate here also.....
No offense, but that's really the truth of it.
