I had a weird experience with a Black Diamond BC awhile back. A friend of mine had one lying around and allowed me to borrow it so that I could try out a back inflate. Ill be honest and say I was over-weighted for this dive and had to keep playing with the inflator to keep neutral. A little way into the dive I started feeling a bit off balance in the water and realized that every time I put air in the BC it would only go to one side to the point where I was almost swimming sideways in the water. Has this ever happened to anybody else or is this common with back inflate or even bp/w setups.

The laws of physics. Not surprising.

If you're a tad head down heavy, this problem will make itself manifest very quickly.

Just think of a horseshoe B/C, or any other type of bladder for that matter, as a fluid filled ring with a bubble in it.

Although the fluid is outside the B/C, the bubble in the B/C behaves the same.

It has nothing to do with it being a back inflate. It has everything to do with weighting. Re check your buoyancy, weighting.

I know the problem was mostly due to my weighting but my jacket style bc has always filled relatively uniformly. I cant see this happening in a jacket style or even a donut style wing as the air can distribute evenly. Im probably just showing my ignorance so please don't yell at me but I would think a horseshoe style wing could become out of balance if the top of neck got pinched or you were favoring one side.
