Well, that is one way to spend your combat pay money....this I gotta see. You might be onto something here with that idea. Not sure if it is suitable for the ocean. Keep us posted.

That boat is a flats boat made for inshore saltwater. I recommend against it. I would not buy a boat just because you used one in Crystal River. The boat in he posted website is not an offshore center console. It is also very pointy looking but at least it appears to have non skid instead of plush carpet. Save your money and get an older Whaler or even a new one but pass on the --uh---Skeeter. With all that flashy horsepower you will blow by my little Whaler but when the water turns rough and we pull down the dive flag we will still be on top of the water and the Skeeter will likely be under it. Do yourself a favor and say no to this siren call--if you really intend to take it offshore for diving that is.
And yes, thanks for your selfless sacrifice. N

I have skin dived off of this boat in the Florida Keys for lobster, because of it's shallow draft, we have been able to get wherever we wanted to go. If I need to go to go out in the ocean, it would be more practical for me to take a charter as my truck is a 4 cylinder and can't handle a bigger boat. The skeeter has handled pretty well in 2-4' seas. Because of the fact that I'm a fly fisherman as well, I think this boat will serve me in both arenas.

Good luck then, your sold on it and Ihope it works out super for you.Offshore center consoles can be had in sizes smaller than the boat your looking at JFYI that can be towed by smaller cars/trucks. It is not just the size but the design and purpose and ability to shed water and stay afloat and in the case of a Whaler, it total unsinkability.

Anyways good luck with the boat, the website I posted earlier--they are super nice and make a great product. Check them out. N

The main reason why I want that boat is because it is a single owner boat (owned by my sister) and it has been taken care of properly. With my other hobby being fly fishing, it would be a good platform for both. Thanks for all the input. Hopefully it will work out.
