Anyone have experience using aftermarket (ebay) batteries for the G10?
1500mah battery available for under $10 - sounds like a good deal, but I don't want to end up with something that melts my camera.
Anyone one try these?

I've been looking at these myself. It cost about 50 bucks or more for an official battery from Canon v.s. 20 bucks or cheaper for 2 of the aftermarket ones. Sounds too good to be true, if you ask me.

I use after market batteries in my G9 and they are fine.

Canon grossly overprices its accessories - they make a huge margin (well over 100% OPM) on these (just like every other electronics retailer - no specific criticism of Canon).

I ordered two batteries and a charger package from Hong Kong for my Kodak camera and have no issues with them.
You can't beat the price. Maybe they won't last as long? Who knows?

I've used aftermarket NP-40 and NP-50 batteries for my Fuji cameras and have be completely satisfied.

I use a Power 2000 NB-7L interchangeably w/ the Canon battery that comes w/ the G-10. Other than lasting a bit longer than the Canon battery the aftermarket battery has certainly not melted the camera. (Unfortunately though I had a friend who did not immediately fwd this post to 10 other friends and he lost his job, his wife ran off w/ his Atomic reg set, his dog ate his DUI drysuit and weevils infested his bc. Other than that...:eyebrow:) // ww

I've also been using aftermarket batteries for my cameras for a while now. I recently picked up another set of aftermarket batteries for my G9. I found some very powerful 1700mAh Wasabi Japanese cell batteries for my G9 at an online site called Blue Nook. The batteries turned out to be awesome! I wouldn't hesitate to buy aftermarket batteries - They're cheaper and more powerful than the factory ones!!

I checked, and Blue Nook has the Wasabi aftermarket batteries for the G10 available. You may want to cosider these:
