Hi,

I'm in the market for a new dive bag and would like your guys' input. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to spend more than $100. Can you guys think of any bags that would be under $100 and that are fairly durable (Will hold up to normal use.)?

Thank you.

have a look at ScubaL.com
have received good reviews, and are the cheapest out there
I didn't like the word SCUBA printed in big fat letters on their roller bag, though (personal taste)

Another option is Leisurepro.com and ebags.com
both have good selections of all kinds of bags (since you didn't specify what you need)

Don't get hung up on the word "divebag" though, any good bag or suitcase will do that is large enough, rugged, and doesn't have too much padding (water traps)
Simple hard shell suitcases like Samsonite are great too!

I paid $40 for a 32" roller bag made by Western Pack. It has held up well and is the perfect size - big enough to hold everything and just small enough to meet airline total dimension restrictions.

A lot of people i dive with use hockey bags ( canadian thing ). You can get them in different sizes and you can get some with roller wheels.

I've got 3 bags from http://www.scubal.com (formerly triple-l) and am very happy with them. Good rugged quality, and quite inexpensive.

I have a Titan http://www.scubal.com/content/index.php?proid=1003&catid=193&procatid=146 which is great for traveling with all my gear in it. I also picked up 2 Malibu's http://www.scubal.com/content/index.php?proid=1136&catid=278&procatid=202 which for $11 are an incredible deal!

Good products all around.

Aloha, Tim

Wow! Those look like really good prices. Quick question, can the Malibu's carry everything? BCD, Wetsuit, Fins, Mask, Snorkel, Octopus, etc?

Thanks.

In the Malibu I can pack a full 3mil wetsuit, my BP/Wing, reg set, mask, boots, gloves, IDI Turtle fins, and a towel... A traditional BCD will probably take up more room, but careful packing should still get it all in. My XXL Jet fins will not fit, but the XL Jets will (only half the height).

Aloha, Tim

P.S. I assume you can find room for a snorkel too

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll just go with the Titan as it seems quite big for a good price. I'm still trying to figure out why it's so cheap though. :) Also, how hard is the Titan to carry on your back if it's completely packed?

I just bought a new bag a couple of weeks ago. I wanted a basic durable bag that would hold everything and wouldn't get in the way on the boat, so i got a duffle dive bag made by akona http://www.diveimports.com/bags_g10b_ak402.htm.

Its really big and strong, the material is thick and is lined inside with some kind of water resistant material, with a small pocket on the outside which is good for keys and stuff. It was really inexpensive and doesnt have any indication on it that it contains dive gear (so it doesnt say 'steal me'). It also has some prety thick rubber grips under the bag which stops it from sliding around on the boat.
I can fit my fins, mask, wetsuit, bp/w, regs and everything else in it and still have a fair bit of room for a couple towels on top.

The price they have it listed as rrp is $99 AU but if you click on the todays price button it will come back with a price of $69AU which is pretty good :)
