I recently got Nitrox Certified and will be looking to buy a wrist mount O2/Nitrox computer. I haven't even come close to making my decision yet but it will probably end up between an Aeris(Atmos Pro or Atmos 2) or Uwatec(Aladin Sport or Aladin Pro). I also read that Aeris is more liberal were Uwatec is more conservative. Is this a good or a bad thing for either one? Which company would you choose if you had to buy a computer?

Of the two you mentioned, I would shooce Uwatec. Of the Uwatec models, I would wait until the Uwatec Smart series comes out this Spring. However, if you're going to buy one now I'd get the Pro Ultra because it has Nitrox ability. Their air-integrated line is second to none, but you pay for it. If you are never planning on using Nitrox, the Sport is great computer as well.

FYI, I bought the Suunto Mosquito... Less money, feature rich and what I was looking for.

We both have Atmos Pros. You can set it for air, or up to 50% O2.

Nice big display; backlit for night dives. Easy to read & operate. Also, you can change the battery yourself (and they are easy to find!).

We've had ours almost 3 years & really like them.

I've got the Atmos Pro and love it also. Plus Aeris has an upgrade offer.. trade in an old computer (working or not) for a new Aeris computer at a damn good price. Atmos Pro Module= $269. I got mine this way. Price out of door at my LDS was around $315 ( Module-gauge guard- wrist mount) I bought an old Dacor computer off Ebay for like $40 for the trade-in so total cost for me was $350 so I saved like $80-100.00 and it's new w/ warrenty and my LDS gets my business! This was the first time they used this program and they said it was real easy to do. Check out Aeris' website http://diveaeris.com

I guess this is a recognition of my equipment mania. I used the Atmos Pro until I got hooked on Tech Diving and acquired an Alladin Nitrox Z. It really gets down to what type of diving you will be doing in the future.

As previously noted, the Atmos Pro Is easy to read and use. The Icons are easy to understand and the planning feature is fine.

As with any "hocky puck" computer, The Atmos Pro doesn't handle repetitive decompression dives. The air integration is nice on the Alladin. The download software for the Atmos is so-so. The Alladin download is better.

I've debated with myself whether to sell the Atmos, but haven't made the final decision.
I will probably use the Atmos for rec and the Aladin for tec.

I have no regrets with either computer. Just my $.02

Just an FYI for anyone out there looking at the aeris atmos pro computer. I got one just last week from www.leisurepro.com for only 250, that's the full console WITH a compass. Better price that way than doing the upgrade method from Aeris's website.
