Which would you recommend and why?

I know that the Vytec will run about $200-$300 more than the Elite, but that is not a problem if the Vytec is really a better computer.

Things that I am looking at are things like reliability, readibility, user friendliness, etc.

I am not doing much Tech or mix diving now but I don't want to have to buy another computer two or three years down the road. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I can only tell you something about the vytec because i havent used the elite for myself but i truely love the vytec!!

I wasnt sure if the hoseless AI was worth the extra money but i got a great deal on the vytec and thought that i should give it a try! I am so glad i did it!
it is extremely reliable and very userfriendly (i think). you have all relevant data on the display and you can even switch gases under water.
i have never ever had a problem with the transmitter and it is great to see pressure and remaining air time on the display...

so, i can highly recommend the vytec. hope that helped a bit even if i cannot compare it to the elite...

I use an Aeris Elite and am very happy with it. This computer is geared to the recreational community more, although it can be used as a digital depth/timer down to 400ft, but thats about it.

You can't change the nitrox mixture on the computer during the dive so if you bring along any other gases this is not the computer for you, but it wasnt designed for tech diving to begin with.

I have no idea about the other computer, so I can't compare, but if you only do single gas recreational dives, than the Elite is solid.

Thanks for the input. I'm still on the fence. It may come down to what I can afford right now. It sounds like I can't go wrong with the Elite, then I can always sell/trade it for a Vytec when I start (as time allows) doing more technical diving.
