hey all... i've done a lot of searches and read quite a lot of
good things on here. i still have a question.

i've been using a Logic for a long time, and
am thinking of switching to a wrist-mounted Atmos 2 for $300.00 OR an Atmos Elite (without the air integrated
module) for $430.00

does anyone know if "updating" to the Atmos 2 or Elite is worth the money?

my other choice is to just use the Logic on a home-made wrist
mount. It's a bit bulky, but otherwise ok.

i guess my questions are:

is it worth $300.00 to go from a Logic to an Atmos 2?

is it worth $430 to go from a Logic to an Atmos Elite?

thanks!

The big differences are the Atmos and Elite will have water activation, easier interface with the 2 button programming, larger display, flashing led alarm, audible alarm, saftey stop count down timer, built in simulator. If those extra features over the logic are worth it - go for it. As far as the Atmos 2 vs elite, Some people hate hoseless... some love it. I love it, so yes, I'd go for the elite... and if you are going to go hoseless... you'll probably save a few bucks if you buy the transmitter at the same time.

thank you, very helpful!

i am actually leaning towards a Nitek Duo right now, not a bad computer for the price,
and it also does two gases (one for deco). i don't do deco, but it might be nice to
grow into it:

That is the exact same computer as the Tusa... that's the Seiko... Just costs about $100 more with the dive rite name on it... compare it to this: Tusa IQ700 and you'll see they are the same...

yup, you're right. it's the same comp alright... but the prices are rather similar
(400 for the DR, 390 for the Tusa). When i get a chance (at work now), I'll
try to see if i can find the Tusa cheaper.

excellent tip!

Oh yea.. you can... just shout at me! In order to maintain the full warranty thing - we can't post below that price on our page...

dang, went ahead and got one for about what it shows on your page before
i saw your last post.

That's why we have a toll free number... to save you money... I told you the Tusa would be $100 cheaper... Next time - just call... Ah heck, what could you do with an extra $100 anyway?! Probably just waste it on more scuba gear...

I wouldn't purchase an Aeris computer. I personally own an Atmos 2 and I like the computer itself and its functionality. However, I have found their quality control to be lacking. The brand new Atmos 2 I purchased contained an older software version. That should not happen, especially with a dive computer. When I brought the issue to their attention, I found the customer service to be some of the worse I have ever experienced.

speaking with a local dealer, he told me that the Duo
has a PO2 of 1.6 and that, despite claims to the contrary,
it can not be adjusted!

anyone know if this is correct?
