Looking to purchase my first set of regulators. Narrowed it down to Aeris AT400 ION and Hollis DC2 212 since both are in below $300 range and reviews are raving.
Since I am the novice to diving and hate cold with passion, I do not feel that any diving in the water below 50-55F I will ever do (at least don't plan to :))
Aeris/Oceanic has DVT valve on the first stage and I am not sure whether it is a huge improvement or will possibly add another point of failure. Also, does presence of DVT mean that you can service your first stage less frequently?
Can someone provide an insight on those 2 regulators and which one will better suite a novice diver.

Subscribed. :D

I'd like to know too. They both come with a free octo, too.
