I had just finished up a dive when I heard a slight hissing noise coming from the yoke valve on my tank. The dvt valve nut was loose and leaking air. I removed the piece and checked for moisture inside the 1st stage of which I found none. I put it back together and tightened down the valve.
My question is simple. Is there a possibility that salt water got into the guts of my first stage? If so, should I flush out the first stage with fresh water? Should I take it in to get serviced?

Hissing noise means air is escaping and the escaping air should prevent any water from entering (it is usually a one way street). Just to be sure, you might want to disconnect the HP hose and an LP hose from the 1st and verify there are no signs of water.

Thanks for the quick reply! I kind of figured as much but needed a pro to tell me for my comfortableness.
