I have the A75 and I like it a lot.
You can see examples on my website, with and without flash (I just use the internal flash as I don't yet have an external strobe)

I like the camera and I chose it over the A80/A85 because it will do 30sec video clips at DVD resolution, which the others will not (only VHS res).

The Scene setting for underwater works ok if you are in <5m otherwise there is no red to enhance anyway.

cheers,
Peter

I fooled with the focus of the 70, 75, 80, 85, and 95, it seems to be the same. Pretty darn good.

TJ, do you normally shoot in manual mode?

If you are going to buy, and can afford the extra $50, get the 85, not the 75. The extra megapixel is worth the $50. Now, if you can afford $399, well, go the 95 route.

Actually, jonnythan, I usually shoot in either apature priority, or program. (And I fool with the occasional mini-movie.) About half the time I'm in macro.

When I step up to off camera strobe, and a WA lens, I'll most likely be shooting in manual, but since I really don't need to right now...

i just finished a short trip to thailand with my new A75 and underwater casing I was very impressed with the photos . Previously I used a Sony P10 but the canon gives much better underwater pics . Maybe it is the special underwater setting on the A75 . I have a seperate strobe but did not use it as I founfd the on board flash good enough . once i work out how to post pics i can give some samples

NCDiver2004:
Thanks for the A75 pic's D! Which housing were you using?

Charlie

I am using the canon housing its the WP-DC30 . I removed the diffuser for all the pics and found the built in flash worked well .

Even for a wider angle shot I think it is quite acceptable as attached pic shows.

hi, what is the piece of white filter in front of the built in flash for?

when will i need to remove it? during marco or normal shots?
