Hi, I am looking for advice on purchasing a new (first) dive computer. I have only used the Sherwood insight, so I don't have much comparison, but I was looking into the Sherwood Wisdom 2. Does anyone have advice on purchasing one, I have located some online, but there appears to be two different "Wisdom 2" models, which only clouds the issue. One option is the dive shop where I was originaly certified is selling a Sherwood Brut (not 2010) regulator package and Wisdom 2 dive computer with compass for $650.00. Seeing this is the older version of the Brut and and a used computer is this a decent price? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

About a year ago, the "new" Wisdom 2 came out. It has a different model number than the previous Wisdom 2. Sherwood should have named the thing 3 or 2A or something. Keeping the same name just messes things up.

If you want a good dive computer, look at the Aeris line. Every computer they make is a good one. They're much more intuitive than other computers, and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Hi, I did look at those and I was interested in the Widsom 2, how do you tell the difference between the two different models? I was also curious on the price and the one I was looking at from the local shop. I'll also take a look at the Aeris line now. Thanks for the help!

I have the original Sherwood Wisdom and love it. I had a Suunto Cobra and sold it to get the Wisdom. The numbers are large so it's easy to read and all the data you need is right there on the screen in a very easy to understand layout. Don't know if that is a good price or not for what you are looking at but if my Wisdom died today I'd order another one tomorrow. It's a great choice for a dive computer.

I bought a Sherwood Widsom 2 about three years ago. I have been diving it ever since and really like it. Some of my dives are low vis, so the large numbers are great. I'd strongly recommend the quick disconnect so that you don't have to haul all of your regs into the coffee shop to log a dive. Since then I have added a Sherwood Insight Nitrox as I prefer to have two computers. The Sherwood algorithms are not conservative, allowing you to spend more time underwater without going into alarm.

I believe that there are four Sherwood Wisdom 2 models. The first two are computers only, the latter two are consoles which also contain a compass:
  • CG9100 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer
  • CG9120 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer (with quick disconnect)
  • CG7125 2008 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass (with quick disconnect)
  • CG9125 Wisdom 2 Dive Computer with Compass and (with quick disconnect)

I can't find any difference in features between the CG9125 (new model) and the CG7125 (older model). I don't think there will be any differences. Go for what is cheaper.

Sherwood doesn't list the difference on their website but something is different. People were asking about it in the Sherwood subforum but nobody ever gotten a straight answer. I think it's cosmetic changes and not anything significant.

I think the original Wisdom model had more colour on the face. The Widsom 2 has less colour. Maybe the new improved Wisdom 2 is more colourful? :)

There are some differences the cg9125 on the download will show tank pressure by the minute it a faster download and has more memory.
