Hey all. I am in need of some more info for planing our second Catalina trip. I made my first day trip to Catalina last November after all the good advice you folks gave me on this site and we had a great day of diving. We are now looking to make another trip in August but plan to stay a few days this time. Currently the plan is be there Sunday through Tuesday to take advantage of the weekday hotel rates and hopefully smaller crowds. Obviously, we will dive the park but would like to get in a day of boat diving as well (at least two but prefer 3 tank dives).

The new Sticky thread has good info but I did not see anything to indicate as to if you can get airfills from the trailer at casino park during weekdays in the summer (specifically, Monday and Tuesday)?

Are there dive boats that offer trips on Mondays or Tuesday? If so, do any of you have any personal feedback for dive boat recommendations out of Avalon?

Finally, I have already checked into package prices through some hotels that include lodging rates and the ferry ride from the mainland. Are the any other websites that offer package deals on these types of trips that are more cost effective then just going through the hotel?

Thank you,

‘bob

You might want to check the websites of both Scuba Luv and Catalina Divers Supply. Both operators are able to put together ferry/hotel/dive packages, and you might want to compare pricing against what you come up with on your own.

On the Casino Point front, the trailer should be open -- that should also be on the CDS website.

Whatever kelpmermaid said.

Yes, fill station is open midweek until Labor Day. Both shops can give you a good experience. However, I greatly prefer Scuba Luv's King Neptune since you don't have to swap tanks between each dive, the food is much better and it is a more spacious vessel. CDS does not do packages any more, but Scuba Luv does.
