Advice for last-minute Bay Islands trip

Hi,

My wife and I are trying to plan a last minute trip to the Bay Islands for the holidays. It seems that this is a pretty tall order; not surprisingly, every place I've called has been booked. I really hate planning trips this way but we're both in the military and this time slot opened up for us at the last minute. Do you folks have any recommendations for last-minute planning? We're looking to be down there from 23 Dec 2009 through 03 Jan 2010. We would prefer Utila but Guanaja or Roatán would be fine, too.

I am sure you already tried the most popular places but you may also want to look through what listed at http://Roatanet.com . Just look doen the bar on the left of their screen for Hotels, Resorts, Condos, Rentals, etc.
Don't take it personal but good to hear places are full

Thanks for the great replies. AKR emailed late last week with an empty spot and we took it. We're going down for ten days, 24 Dec - 03 Jan. We're stoked!
