Can someone please tell me if there is a way to search specific forums for threads> For example I want to search the Instr-to-Instr forum (only) for selected keywords.

Many thanks.

Even though it's not obvious - the Search Forum drop-down in the blue menu bar at the top of every forum is forum + child sub-forums specific.

While in a sub-forum it only searches within that sub-forum.

I think you'll still have better results with Google - site:scubaboard.com/forums/instructor-instructor/ your search term here.

Hi. Here's a detailed explanation of how to use advanced search.

1) Click "ADVANCED SEARCH" under the search box:
View attachment 169746

2)Click Search Single Content Type:
search 2.jpg

3) Select Detailed Options
Search 3.jpg

I've upgraded our search function from the basic vBulletin search. Our search allows for additional search operators like many (but not all of) these:

  • operator OR:hello | world
  • operator NOT:hello -world
    hello !world
  • field search operator:mad:title hello @body world
  • field position limit modifier (introduced in version 0.9.9-rc1):mad:body[50] hello
  • multiple-field search operator:mad:(title,body) hello world
  • all-field search operator:mad:* hello
  • phrase search operator:"hello world"
  • proximity search operator:"hello world"~10
  • quorum matching operator:"the world is a wonderful place"/3
  • strict order operator (aka operator "before"):aaa << bbb << ccc
  • exact form modifier (introduced in version 0.9.9-rc1):raining =cats and =dogs
  • field-start and field-end modifier (introduced in version 0.9.9-rc2):^hello world$
