I got that idea when diving the Jay Scutti wreck in Fort Lauderdale. I couldn't squeeze through the doors in my gear (I doubt anyone can) so after the dive I told my buddy the next time we dive it I'm going to try removing my rig so I can fit.

The reason why they don't want line is that people follow them into places where they shouldn't be. If you leave the line, it will probably be removed within a week by a very annoyed DM.

Hopefully the shopping carts left in the parking lot by totally irresponsible and selfish customers will be retrieved before a gust of wind blows them into another car and damages it.If a DM wants to "get all annoyed" that's their issue. It's also part of their job. Sort of like when people leave shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot and they have to be retrieved by the guy who works outside.
So, if I understand this post, you are putting yourself and your dive plan in the same category as the totally irresponsible and selfish shoppers who leave their carts in the parking lot as a hazard to others and as extra work for employees. Interesting.
