Hi,

I'd like to take an adv. nitrox course. Any recommendations on where to get it in the GTA? Or just easier to come down to Florida and make it there?
I have PADI OW, AOW and Nitrox certs right now.

TIA.

Dunno about Toronto area. Others can chime in on that.

Best instructor I know, who is closest to you, is Steve Lewis aka Doppler.

He's mostly around Ontario, but he teaches in Florida, Thailand, and a few other places as well. He's wicked good. Contact him here:

Best with your class,

Doc

I also recommend Steve Lewis from personal experience.

PM as required.

Steve Lewis can be tricky to get ahold of sometimes but it's tough to beat his methods of instructon. Nice to have an instructor that makes you think and truly earn your cert.

I did see him this afternoon at Divetech in Mallorytown and I think he's around there for at least tomorrow. He will be in Florida sometime soon also. PM if I can help you reach him. Cheers,
Michael

If you can't get hold of Steve, you might want to give Dan a call at DiveTech to see who he would recommend. There are more than a few tech instructors along the St. Lawrence and it's a bad place to dive even this late in the year.

Did you mean bad or not bad? I've kinda heard the water is too cold already.

While diving the St Lawrence I'm wearing summer undies with a wee bit more. Still too warm for TPS in my books. Check out temps here; http://seaboard.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=aban6

Was 57.7 tonight. If you dive dry it's still toasty warm. I have a dive buddy who dives wet and she'll still dive provided the air is warmish.

Actually meant to say 'not a bad place to dive even this late in the year'.

The temp is acutally dropping very fast. It was 60F on the Eastcliffe on Saturday.

Diving dry is the way to go this time of year as the air can by much colder than the water. But you can get away with a wet suit for a few more weeks if you are brave.
