Hi All. I’ll be staying at Sandals in Curaçao in January 2025 and the resort diving looks pretty lame and it’s very limited. Does anyone know a dive shop that features advanced, deeper, diving?

Generally speaking, any Curaçao site could be a deep dive but there’s not much to see down there. The best parts of our reef is between 40-60 ft and actually the sites Sandals has access to are some of the healthiest in the Caribbean (eastern reef).

Here are some notable “deep/advanced” sites:
- Superior Producer (deep wreck)
- Car Pile
- Shipwreck Point
- Tarpon Bridge

None of these are Sandals sites so you’ll have to go through a local dive shop and pretty much ANY shop here can pick you up and take you. Just hit up Google for a dive shop listing.

I stayed at the Marriot last year. Goby Divers was more than happy to provide deco bottles and whatever mix I wanted.

There are a couple small caves caverns depending on the tide near Lagun that can be done as a shore dive. A bit of a swim from the beach.

If i recall correctly the 2nd wall on double reef was my favourite dive of the trip. Unfortunately the dive group doesn't go there because there's current which flushes to where the cruise ship docks. I know I'm not supposed to, but I took it upon myself to take a little peek over and saw some bigger stuff than I saw my previous 7 dives of the trip. Large moray, tarpons and other large fish and turtles.

I didn't make it to the west side of the island, and I get why people like Curacao because it's warm and easy, but I found it to be some of the most boring diving I have done. My most recent dives prior to that were Nusa Penida which I think is is my favourite place and, much different than Curacao, so perhaps a bit spoiled. I'm in my 30's now but could see how in my 60's Curacao might be a perfect spot because it's so easy and convenient and I mean no offense to anyone.

I dove Curacao a bit over a year ago, stayed at Lions Dive. It isn't very exciting or challenging, but it is nice and relaxing diving, with some beautiful corrals (though I understand stoney corral disease has become an issue). If you are looking for the former, you'll likely be disappointed, but I personally really enjoyed it. If I was taking someone fairly new diving, Curacao would be at the top of my list. Imho...

Look for erme diver from Brazil in FB or Instagram.
He dives deep often in curacao, mostly in CCR, and knows the ways. Tell him it was me (Evandro) who told about him, he surelly will be glad to help you!
