Dr. Powel, thank you for the excellent course. You answered the questions I came with and (unfortunately for you) filled me with a bunch of new ones. I’ve studied surface tension as it applies to blood chemistry before but your treatment seems to have actually stuck. I was quite surprised by just how severe the correlation between exercise and Doppler bubble count. I explained the necessity for a dive Sherpa to my wife but she didn’t seem to understand it as clearly as I did, perhaps you could explain it to her better…

Thanks again,

A freshly enlightened ColdH2Odvr

Hello again, ColdWater:

I am pleased that you found the material enlightening.

For many things in life, I, too, am looking for a sherpa.

Dr. Powell, thank you for the excellent course.

What he said. I attended Dr. Deco's seminar last weekend on Catalina Island, Calif., and learned a great deal. I'd highly recommend it to any other divers who want to get more deeply into this topic.

Like ColdH2Odvr, the big message I came away with was the effect of post-dive exercise on bubbling (up to 10x increase in perfusion depending on exercise level, if my notes are correct). I'll be looking for a dive valet to schlep my tanks up the stairs at Laguna Beach ...

I thought the class was just chocked full of info. Some of it was vague before the class and became clearer, surface tensions and Laplace cutoff, during class. And for other things they are still vague but that just means doing a bit more research for reading material and going back next year to get the stuff that just wasn't sinking in.

Thanks Dr. Deco.....by the way keep the comic billboards in the power point presentation, I thought they were great.
