Hi, just curious how many of you use yours adjustment knob on your 2nd stage? I tried the adjustments a few times when I first bought it but have left it on low volume since. I could tell a differance when I adjusted it to full but it just felt like a waist of air. On low I feel I get all the volume I need and I figure I'm saving gas. My dives are usually between 100 and 130ft Do most of you use the same practice and at what depth do you start increasing the flow.

Thanks

Hi Sig,
I have the Cressi airtec and I turn mine all the way down and then back about a quarter of a turn. I dive around 55 ft and havent seen any reason to to adjust it .i breath fine with it on the low end .I feel the same way ,why change it if there isnt any need. I like to put as little effort as possible into a dive. Actually if i put it all the way on low it seems i have to work a little harder to breath.Anyone got any tips or tricks let me know, Im new to all this.

I use a Scubapro G500 and set it to the easiest to breath settings on both adjustments. You should back of from that position only to avoid free-flows. Increasing you work of breathing does not save air. If anything it uses more air as you work harder (pretty small). If you crank it down to the point where breathing is uncomfortable, then it might be a more sizable increase.

I use an R190 on a pony. Here I set the venturi adjustment to the minimum flow position to reduce free-flows.

On my G500, the balance knob is turned to the hardest breathing position to soak the reg not under pressure. Storage should be in the easiest breathing position to minimize contact on the low pressure seat.

I have the ScubaPro s/600 2nd stage and it just depends... most of the time I just leave it alone. I only mess with it if I feel I am having problems getting air (which isn't often).
