Just purchased the Rogue and would like to add an additional D-ring to the shoulder strap. It comes with 1 on each shoulder strap along with what Aqualung calls a webbed daisy chain. It should be easy to add a D-ring but all I find are closed, welded, d-rings. I know I can add a zip-tie but that'll look like crap. I'm looking for suggestions for a stainless attachment to put through the existing fabric loop. Thank you.

Does it have to be steel? Google for grimloc -- pity they didn't go for molle webbing... Or a locking carabiner, those come in steel too.

Is it "pinched" webbing like on backpacks or just flat 1"? If it's flat, grimlocs should sit on it OK. (If it's "pinched" I bet know how to un-picnh it.)

Pinched webbing. Looks like the grimloc is right as long as a double ender closes over it even though the web isn't flat. Thank you

Grimlocs have a slot for 1" webbing. it works best on flat tight 1" webbing, but "pinched" webbing may have enough of a flat bit to thread it too. A 2" d-ring isn't going to stay put in there, a grimloc might. Clearly AL does not subscribe to "suicide clip" theory as that webbing is for 'biners (or they believe their customers are rich enough to buy locking climbing rust-proof ones). If you don't go for that, you might be better off with just a basic split keyring in there.
