Thanks for everyone's input.
I went for a couple dives today and 2lbs in the trim pockets worked nicely.
Water was 26-27 degrees so too warm to appreciate any added benefit from the hooded vest in the absence of that 18 degree thermocline we had a couple of weeks ago, but it was good to dive with and the three holes I poked to vent air worked really well.
