I have read many threads but the answer is somewhat not conclusive
I have the whole set of Inon AD lenses UCL165, UWL105 and UFL165 currently attached to an Inon AD mount and canon wp-dc12 for powershot A570IS
I finally decided to upgrade to an S95 and just bought a recsea housing
I know ideally I should be looking at either a fisheye lens uwl28 or an inon uwl100 however I don't like the idea of screwing and unscrewing lenses as info that with my compact video and it is a total nightmare
I understand that the best set up would be an m67 adapter plus a 10bar AD converter to avoid massive vignetting but that costs $200+
I have looked at dyron an they produce an AD adapter that costs less And looks very similar however on sites like back scatter it indicates this is only for close up AD whilst on the dyron site it says for all AD
i wonder if anyone has experience with this setup and how does it work in water?
Or otherwise has anybody tried anything else?

for the oly TG610 set up i had, i used the 52>67mm adapter and the 67mm>inon AD adapter...a bit of vignetting at full wide for my 105AD and 165AD's. for my s100, i am going to try the LD>AD mount for my UCL165AD's...my UWL105AD may be up the creek, tho.

Interceptor 21, given you want to use the UFL165AD and UCL165ADs lenses, the recsea housing is the right one. I have the FIX S90 housing with the FIX AD adapter.

The UFL165AD works fine. I have to zoom in two steps to 35mm which brings it back to the design specs intended for the UFL165AD. No loss at all on FOV. Very Minor (sometimes) vignetting on upper right hand corner. Have absolutely no problem with the UCL165ADs. Removing and replacing lenses is quick and easy.

I suggest you check with reef or backscatter if they have the FIX AD adapter that was originally sold for the FIX S90 housing. It should work fine with the Recsea housing.

I use Inon UCL165AD and UWL105AD lenses on my S95 Recsea housing. I got the Dyron adapter from Bluewater Photo and am very happy with it. Scott is great to work with and I highly recommend Bluewater. The Dyron adapter makes it super easy to change lenses. The Dyron adapter works great with both the UCL and UWL lenses. I do not have the UFL165AD yet, but I'm pretty sure it would work just the same. Email Scott he can answer all your questions.

Thanks guys for the feedback.
I am a bit confused on the whole adapter thing. Firstly I read on the camera manual that you have a mechanical step zoom to make the lens 35mm equivalent, once that is done there should be limited vignetting with the UFL165D. Of course at 28mm it will show dark corners. However why would you not put the camera in the housing with the step zoom at 35mm instead of zooming in each time? Does that prevent telephoto?

When I compare the various adapters they seem built very differently

This is the Fisheye FIX ADF-M52 Adapter Ring for AD Lens Attachment to S95 Housings [fix.adf.m52.pro] - $100.00 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros looks functioning but tiny Ozzi is this the one you have? I have read posts of lens rubbing on the port with this one and the UFL165. Seems fairly small and shallow I wonder if it is deep enough for a standard AD instead of a 28AD. The LD lenses are usually a 5-6 mm shallower than the corresponding AD

This is the Dyron AD adapter for Recsea S90/95 and P300 housings | DyronStore | Underwater accessories which looks much bigger similar to the M67+AD adapter combination in some old posts

Backscatter has another one Fisheye FIX Canon S90 Housing Inon 28AD Adapter that looks similar to the Dyron but labelled 28AD

The dyron would seem more sturdy and deeper compared to the other two adapters so it is at this time my choice but I would like to hear from someone who has tested it with the UFL165AD

I have a Recsea housing for the S95 and use the Dyron adapter DY.ADIRECS90 to mount an Inon UFL165AD and recently a UCL165AD without problems. I use the custom setting on the S95 to save a number of manual settings including zoomed in to 35mm when I am using the UFL165 as well as flash on, aperature 6.3 and speed 1/125 . That way when I turn on the camera and strobes they're ready to shoot quickly if there is something appearing on the radar as I'm descending. I then adjust as I go but not the preset zoom

Just as an update I got the AD adapter from Dyron and though plastic is a good build quality
The notch on the ring correspond perfectly to the one on the Inon lenses it looked initially misaligned but I had not clicked the lens on fully
So I recommend this set up as it is easy to mount and set

A few pictures of the Dyron adapter on the housing
As you can see the notch does actually coincide with the INON AD
I then attached the UWL105AD the picture at 28mm has severe vignetting and that one at 35mm just a small amount same as it was on my original 35mm powershot A570IS the lens in fact gives nearly 180 degrees

This is a comparison between the same UWL105AD on my old Powershot A570IS in canon WP-DC12 and the new S95 in the recsea housing with dyron adapter and the same UWL105AD
Both pictures are shot at ISO 800, F2.2 and 1/60 you can see the old camera is much more noisy at this ISO however the point is that the S95 with the Dyron adapter actually has LESS or same vignettin than the powershot (actually it seems that the S95 is nice centred with small vignette on all corners and the old A570 only has vignette but quite a lot on the left side??)

So in short Dyron has done a great job here and I look forward to testing the UFL165AD in water!!!
