I have no problem with an op that says they will take us to a relatively easy site for the first dive and the first 10 minutes will be observing our skill level. None at all. But to jump in 5 meters of water near the shore and waste my money and time is out of the question.

And that is why I asked for recommendations. Some don't do it that way and once you've paid, you are out of luck.

Given I've only dived with two Red Sea ops I don't have all that much experience. But I was never forced to pay 30 € to dive on a five meter sandy bottom.

ok, I got your point but as red sea shadow said, this is not the way with good operators... so I still can recommend the marsa shagra diving village for your stay
