Oh my... I thought you were coming to the La Jolla dive... I'll be on my way to Florida when the Wrinkles dive happens here.

Interesting failure mode. However, it sounds like it may be a common one. As for not hearing the beeping, well the high frequencies are the first to go. Welcome to the club.

This however for me means NOT diving air at any time, since air is never the best mix for anything, except scrubbing the bottoms of boats in the marina.

:rofl3:

I knew I wasn't dead or suffering ox-tox. I figured the freaking computer had somehow reset my gas mix (I dive only air). I had not touched the computer, so if it had re-set the mix, it did so entirely on its own. When I surfaced, I found I had been diving with the computer set to 50% O-2.
. . .

Anyone else out there have similar experiences with the Aladdin Pro or other Uwatec computers?

I can't find the manual for your computer on the Uwatec site, however the SmartCom (and a bunch of other computers) reset to a fixed %O2 before each dive, unless set to not do this.

This model is not supposed to reset to anything... it's got an old "brain" inside. To the best of my aging memory, these issues never surfaced until I had the battery replaced at the factory. Now it seems to do a number of odd things it never did before.

I have loved this computer prior to these problems, so perhaps something happened at the factory that has affected its functioning.

Gulp... do they go before or after "something else" goes? I haven't had a chance to test that lately.

You might want to give them a call.

Factory Service on Uwatec quite often means that you actually get a brand new (or at least newer) computer back. Yours might have different firmware than the one you sent back. You should be able to figure out if it's broken or upgraded with a phone call.

Doggone it, I was hoping to meet you! Now you have to come to Ohio :rofl3:
Ber :lilbunny:

Ohio... gulp. I started my diving career in the 60's doing quarries and the Great Lakes. That's like asking me if I want to go back to snow country.

The Aladin Pro worked like a charm this weekend. Go figure.
