There's a KOA campground within a 45min drive. I believe you can camp at FL caverns state park as well?

Thanks, but then I'd have to bring camping gear as well as well as diving gear. Besides, I really don't see myself camping for two weeks while on dive vacation.

When I took my class with Robert Neto (Chipola Divers) I stayed at the Quality Inn in Marianna Marianna, Florida hotel near Caverns State Park - Quality Inn 32448, FL251 . It was a decend room at $55.00 a night I believe. Edd was also telling me about a hotel that is right across the street from the executive Inn (but is nicer) that if you mention you are diving with Cave Adventurers they will give you the special $35.00 a night cave diver special rate. You will have to ask Edd the name of the hotel.

Robert is a great instructor, you are going to learn alot and have a good time doing it.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it. :) I'll ask Edd about the other hotel and the special rate when I hear from him.

Me and my buddies have stayed at Hole in the Wall House a couple of times. The place is excellent and could not be more convenient. Full kitchen, couple of bathroom, washer/dryer, big common area with plenty of room for charging lights, scooters, etc; plus lots of workspace and drying racks outside undercover.

Recommend it if there are several of you chipping in but it would be expensive on your own... hotel or Edd and Stacey's trailer is gonna be the best option.

Have fun. Great caves locally and Edd's has just about anything you need in the way of kit and accessories.

Ask Bugman about the Hotel across the street from Executive Inn....you will want to reconsider that after talking with him.:D

Hehe, when you put it that way, I guess I don't really have to. :D

Yeah, it looks really nice. :)

Thanks, I most certainly will. :) I've noticed he's got a candy store for divers, and it worries me. I'll probably be broke for a year afterwards.

Ed is a crack dealer...you poke your head in the cracks underwater, get hooked, and your bank account will never be the same. On the bright side, my wife says she never has to worry about what to get me for birthdays and Christmas anymore. On my birthday she called Ed, and got me a new backup light.

Yeah, it looks really nice. :)

That's very kind of you! :) Oslo-Philiadelphia-Charlotte-Tallahassee is the most likely route, and if the prices are ok, I'll probably just rent a car at the airport.

If I recall correctly, you mentioned the Ramada as a good budget alternative. Checked their online booking system to get a price, but it wouldn't let me book for 2010. Sent an email to Edd asking about his accomodation alternatives too.

Some hotels are a little behind in updating their systems for booking. The Ramada also has a few retaurants within walking distance. I would recommend hotel over camping. After spending all day in class/diving, you're going to be ready for a bed and air conditioning! As for the American Inn (I think that's the name), I have heard they cleaned things up since the bugman stayed there but I don't know anyone that's stayed there to confirm it.
