I know this past week on 10/10/08 2 people were diving in the north part of Taiwan. They surfaced in an area unplanned and tried to exit on the break water barrier. I believe the woman died and the man was injured. The body of the woman was recovered within the breakwater barrier on the 13th. The wind was from the north which makes for big big waves in that area.
Not reported in any news agency that I can find. Confirmed via my diveshop as they were requested to help in the recovery of the body by local authorities.
