Hi Dave, on Curacao we sorkeled
playa Forti, no shallow reef, fish amongst the coral rubble
Playa Kalki, same as Forti, both have healthy reef out at drop off, 30 ' plus
Playa Grande, a little more reef, saw turtles, and lots of fish very close to shore by rock ledges
Porto Marie, more shallow reef and nice beach, still not great snorkeling, but the best of these 4
Tug Boat, interesting, with more coral formation, but it was too rough to go out to the good stuff
No comparison between Curacao & Bonaire. Just about any place you put your face in water has great snorkeling, perfect deapths, lots of fire coral starting right at shore and gently slopes down to about 20' then drops to deep blue. Lots of fish everywhere. Those Snook hang out under Capt. Don's pier.
All of the shore entries have been much easier than what we were told. Usually coral rubble shore and rocks, no big deal if you are careful, I guess it depends what you are used to.
I think Culebra might have better soft corals, but Bonaire better overall, deapth, fish varieties, number of easy shore entries
