Well, folks, there are really only two types of wetsuit divers in the world. Those who pee in their wetsuits, and those who lie about it.

Wetsuit shampoo, and standing in the the shower to wash it make life easier, and MUCH more fragrant.

AS for me, I had the "P" valve installed in my CF-200X, and I "luv" it!!

Cheers! :anakinpod

You forgot those that don't need to. :526: I had never even heard of anyone peeing in their wetsuit until I joined this Board!! It's like peeing in your bathwater, yuck!

Hey I’m sure we all pee`d in out diapers when we where babies, and we all survived that without any problems....so what’s the big D?
Some water I dove in has been worse than any pee :)

Happy Goin` Down all....

what is it about water that just drives you to pee? I go right before I kit up and right after, but if the water is the tiniest bit nippy, I just can't hold it and end up peeing then trying to subtly flush my suit out before I get on the boat! Oh the shame of it! On a normal day I'll go once maybe twice all day...
the worst thing for me, was last time I went diving I must have put my wet bcd down on some recent cat pee on the grass!!!!! eeeeeeeuuuuchk!!! Stank for ages, I kept rinsing and rinsing it for weeks after.

You mean I'm not supposed to pee in my bathwater?

Not in the bathwater and not in the shower. I had a roomate in college who would pee in the shower and then clear out his sinus cavities. It taught me the importance of ALWAYS being the first one up in the morning.

I can figure out how you knew she cleared her sinuses but how do you know she peed? And doesn't it all go the same place anyway?

Back to the wetsuit and peeing, you are swimming in fish, turtle and other creatures pee. If I am in the Bahamas and on a long dive and I gotta pee you can bet I will rather than end the dive or suffer. Urine is actually very sterile and if you are diving, it gets washed out of your wetsuit as you are diving. I mean, do not pee as you are climbing up the ladder.
But if you actually wash out your suit with cleaner and wash your bod, what is the big deal?

if your dive suite fits correctly, it won't get washed out while diving without some strange and difficult contortions. Then when you take your suit off on the boat, your body and your suit reek of pee which is unpleasant for everyone else, not to mention the fact that the pee is running all over the deck.

Unless you have found some magic wet suit water will flow in and out, that's why it's called a wet suit. A correctly fitted wet suit will minimize the flow but water will still flow through. Just make sure you give yourself at least 10 minutes before getting out of the water to allow your wet suit to flush itself clean.
