Hi All,

Going to be diving in BC next month with a drysuit.

What would the percentage increase in required lead be for the transition to salt water?

Thanks,

Divebutt

Add 2.5% (1/40th) of your weight including all your dive gear. I'm assuming you know the weight you need while wearing that rig in fresh water.

so you're saying that if my total weight in freshwater is approx, lets say 340lbs, I should add 8.5 lbs?

That would be correct.

If you properly weighted and as a unit you and all your gear weigh 340 lbs then you will displace 5.448 cubic feet of water.

5.448 cubic feet of saltwater will weigh 348.6 lbs. Thats what you will need to be neutralll bouyant.
