Where would anyone recommend if looking to dive for a week in the autumn? Ive dived sharm previously and enjoyed it. Is it poss to book independently of a tour operator like explorer travel?

Hello

I'll go to that area in the beginning of march. It'll be on the west side, though. Most probably Marsa Alam, as it's not as crowded as Hurghada... yet.
Hurghada was pretty much ok ten years ago, now it's grown to enormous proportions.

You'll probably get some other answers before that, but I'll still give you a word on how it is further down the coast.

so long :snorkel:

Appreciate that, thanks. I really enjoyed some parts of thailand which werent too overcrowded with divers so would prob want the same in red sea.

You could always start a thread with the Africa/Middle East forum unless you think there is enough water coming through the Suez Canal to merit it being in Europe?
:-)

Hey Aquamore

Considering how many europeans you meet down there, they at least deserve honorary membership.

I know, this must sound odd coming from somebody who's living in the middle of europe without actually being european! wink

we should have a global forum for the Red Sea and The Great Barrier reef then......... there are Ozzies every where except on the Rugby world cup winners stand
:-)

Incisive?.... don't forget decisive too! :-)

BTW how did Scotland do in the RWCup?

Oh yes I remember

Not too worried how scotland did being Welsh, if I was the "hand bags type" I might ask how Holland did! lol.

....and if I was the "hand bags type" I would reply "Not too worried how Holland did being English!" ....... but I might ask how Wales did. lol

.......... any answer other than "Splendid!", could result in an extended e-mail chain about Rugby and Hand-bags
:-)
